#dailypalettes

Whenever I finish painting for the day, I always make sure to stop and appreciate the palette.

With oils, sometimes I'm even more excited about the abstract mess of colors I'm left with than the actual piece of art.

I also love to compare my palette to the painting. Here's a work-in-progress next to the smear of colors I used.

Hmm, maybe I'll start another new hashtag: #palettevspainting. What do you think?

My watercolor remnants are even more fun! I post my palettes on Instagram to hear what others can see in my leftover paint -- it's like a very colorful Rorschach test without any of the psychoanalysis.

Here's a few others I've posted --  what can you see??

You can see all of the palettes I've posted to date under hashtag #dailypalettes.

...and the next time you're painting, make sure you take a moment to appreciate your palette, if you don't already. You might end up framing it!
